Summary and Suggestions
Purposes of practicum

          1. Student teachers have an opportunity to practice their pedagogy and have the experience of teaching in real situation.

       2. Student teachers can observe the education system of the other schools in the other countries and adopt the good things to apply it in each own country.

            3. Student teachers can study about the culture of the other countries.

            4. Student teachers can develop their potentials as a teacher.

         1. In the first week, I arrived on an Islamic holiday that allowing me to learn about Indonesian culture. Other than that, I was greeted by receiving university (UMSU) and receiving school (Al-Amjad Islamic School). I was taken on a school tour which allowed me to learn about the education system. And finally, the school has competition days for students, me and my friends have also joined.

          2. In the second week, I observed two the teaching classes in elementary 6, Madinah class and Makkah class. I observed the order of operations lesson by teacher to teach the same content in both rooms. After observation, I was prepared to make my lesson plan.

       3. In the third week, I began to teaching practice both classes. At first, I was quite excited, nervous and caused some errors in my teaching. After that, I modify my teaching in order to make it better.

          4. In the last week, I have been evaluated by the receiving university. I think this time I was able to teach well. I can control my classroom and my students are cooperative and enjoy learning.

            A. Experience

  1. Reach responsibility of teacher, the management of teacher advisors more clearly.

  2. Improve behavior of personality for being a good teacher.

  3. Practice solving immediate problems.

  4. Knowing the details of the preparation of lesson plans for various tasks.

  5. Knowing the technique of teaching. Choose the use of materials to suit the child appropriately.

  6. Observe and learn behavior of students more closely.

           

            B. Utilization

  1. Adjust to fit your own personality to be a good teacher.

  2. Develop and improve teaching technique to gain more attraction.

  3. Solve the problem each of situations reasonably and appropriate.

  4. Improve to be better deployed in the next teaching.

            This exchange project is my first experience. It's my first time to go aboard, use English in life situations, teaching practice Mathematics in English, everything is a challenge of my life. I'm quite anxious to use English. But I have already decided to improve myself. So, I must try to speak English with other person and lead Education system. Other than this, I challenge my self to speak Indonesia language too.

        The SEA-Teacher project is very useful, allowing us to have a good opportunity to practice English, observe teaching to learn about education system and teaching practice in abroad. Including learning the culture and traditions of other countries.

            I’m not a well at English so I need time to prepare myself, my lesson plan. But before I went to Indonesia, I didn’t have information about receiving schools and I didn’t know about the topic I will teach. I think if possible, I would therefore like to have more clear delivery of information for better teaching preparation.
